Project Abstract
The technology of a mechanical microsystem (mMS) for the regeneration of transected spinal cord has been intensively investigated for more than a decade in collaboration with Prof. Klaus Seide (UK Boberg/Uni Lübeck) and Prof. Hans Werner Müller (HHU Düsseldorf). Results from rodent model prove the effect of the implant. In this project the mMS technology will be validated for a porcine model. Furthermore, aspects of bioresorption and individualization of the implant are investigated.
