Abstract
At the first workshop of the research center (FSP) "Biobased Processes and Reactor Technologies" at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), more than 100 researchers from 16 institutes met to present the latest research results and to exchange professional ideas. The event took place at the premises of TuTech Innovation GmbH at Harburger Schlossstraße 6-12.

The FSP "Biobased Processes and Reactor Technologies" has set itself the goal of promoting communication between different disciplines and offering young scientists a platform for networking. Current projects were presented in the form of nine lectures and 66 posters. The presentations were further expanded by two invited lectures from Professor Kathrin Rosenthal (Constructor University Bremen) and the recipient of this year’s Dechema prize, Dr.-Ing. Andreas Vorholt (Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion), who provided exciting insights and impulses.

In his opening speech, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Mirko Skiborowski, speaker of the FSP, emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation and the added value of the workshop for young scientists. As an agile research university, the TUHH offers ideal conditions for such collaboration within the engineering sciences. Especially the poster presentations were used by the participants to present and discuss the currently ongoing research activities in the FSP and connect for further exchange. At the end of the workshop, the posters of Jan Philipp Bittner, Teresa Kurtz as well as Jon Wullenweber received special awards for an outstanding presentation.
