With the legitimization of driverless driving in Germany in 2021, the introduction of this new vehicle technology in road freight transport will become increasingly real. However, this may be accompanied by potential desired and undesired changes that have not yet been analysed holistically in the existing literature. Tjaden (2023) investigates these effects using a system dynamics research approach. In this article, the results of the simulation and the design options that can be derived for a future-oriented introduction of driverless driving in the logistics system are examined in more detail.
