A vertical transition from differential microstrip line to WR10 rectangular waveguide is presented. In contrast to other approaches, it does not necessitate a backside cavity. This simplifies the integration into multilayer circuits. The measured response which agrees well with the simulated one demonstrates a good performance over the entire W-Band. The insertion loss ranges from 0.5dB to 1.1dB whereas the return loss is better than 13dB over the whole bandwidth of 37.8%.
