A model simulates the diversely parameterized progress of dedicated business journeys including sleep and working times. The motivating research question asks for the benefit of high speed flight regarding time. It is assumed that on journeys, time gains are not only achieved by shorter travel, but also by retaining productive (working) time as well as by securing restedness. Those three target values are joined into the parameter of “time cost of travel”. Modelling durations and timings of sleep poses a main difficulty for this work. The algorithms’ basic validity is demonstrated by comparisons to actual documented journeys. An initial use-case selects optimum flight connections for a traveler. A second use-case compares world-wide travel in a subsonic business jet to a supersonic counterpart.
