The building sector is responsible for about a quarter of the CO₂ emissions in Germany, and a transformation towards an energy-efficient building stock is an essential keystone for climate protection. In this thesis, a model predictive control strategy is developed and implemented in an office building with the aim of optimizing the energy efficiency and thermal comfort of the building. The metrological evaluation of the control strategy shows that 10 to 30 % heating energy savings can be realized compared to the conventional control strategy, while thermal comfort can be improved at the same time.
