Technical standards are often only addressed peripherally in vocational education and training. Their didactic and methodological potential for learning processes has received little systematic attention to date. However, on closer examination, technical standards offer more than just subject-specific content; they also present valuable opportunities for methodical learning design. This paper explores how technical standards can be used not only as instructional content but also as structural and decision-making tools within the framework of vocational teaching and learning.
