The hydroacoustic pressurefield of an oscillating elastic flat plate excited by the field of a ship's propeller is calculated. The environment of the elastic flat plate is considered to be rigid; However, theoretical prediction is also given for the case that the watersurface forms the environment. The numerical results are compared with the propeller's hydroacoustic pressurefield. In addition, the possibility of decreasing the exciting pressure by using a skewed propeller is dealt with theoretically and confirmed by numerical examples.
