Driving is an important aspect of daily life for many people, but for drivers who are deaf or hard of hearing, finding their way around without the aid of auditory cues can be a challenge. This project presents the development of a haptic driver seat extension that uses speech recognition technology to provide tactile feedback to the driver improving situational awareness and reducing distractions. It is universal in use for multiple sources of navigational hints, may it be from co-drivers or navigational systems.
