In the present work, the high cycle fatigue behaviour of Ti-6Al-4V components fabricated by metal injection moulding (MIM) was investigated in detail. Experiments were conducted in an attempt to determine the influence of critical features such as surface quality, porosity and microstructural features on the fatigue behaviour. Based on the results obtained in this investigation, an alloy has been designed with the microstructure features required to minimise the degradation of the high cycle fatigue behaviour resulting from the presence of inherent MIM processing defects.
