In this paper a forecasting model for offshore wind power plant spare parts is presented. The paper starts with an overview about the German offshore wind energy market and the expected future development. To reach a high availability of the turbines, the right amount of spare parts is needed and therefore the authors introduce a tool to forecast the quantity / type of spare parts by a given availability and maintenance strategy. In this context essential terms as reliability, availability, maintenance and service are described.
