This thesis investigates the mechano-regulation of angiogenesis during bone regeneration through multiscale computer models integrating finite element analysis and agent-based modelling. The comparison of model predictions with dedicated experiments revealed key mechanobiological principles governing angiogenesis during bone healing. The developed framework can inform the design and optimisation of biomaterials and treatment strategies to promote adequate vascularisation during bone regeneration.
