An agile development approach is used nowadays in product engineering. Simultaneously the development process takes place at separate locations within heterogeneous teams. In methodical Product Engineering, a number of supporting measures exist. Often, they support the generation of objects by synthesis, which can be used for the validation. However, in the early generation of Product Generation Engineering, product profiles are developed to present bundles of benefits for customers and suppliers. In this phase there is still a lack of support for the modeling of these product profiles. This poses a challenge for product engeineering, as decisions are particularly important at an early stage. Optimized knowledge transfer between the different stakehold- ers, which supports the decision-making process, can be improved by early prototyping of profiles. In order to enhance the knowledge, transfer in the phase of finding a profile, different requirements for a corresponding methodology have been defined in this paper. On the one hand, is the generation of a product profile model as such to be supported and, on the other hand, the transfer of knowledge by means of this product profile model. In order to achieve this, an approach has been developed with which the development of a congruent mental model can be facilitated, as well as an efficient and effective transfer of knowledge within interdisciplinary teams. The modular design of the concept enables support distinct to the situation and needs.
