Higher education institutions are increasingly taking responsibility for the promotion of media skills and digital literacies among prospective and experienced teachers. The role of open educational resources (OER) as a possible driver for contemporary cross-phase teacher education is discussed on the basis of experiences in the contexts of the projects digiLL and digital.learning.lab. In this form, a thesis-based discussion impulse is to be provided as a starting point for the question of the extent to which higher education based OER projects can intelligently and newly link the phases of teacher education in times of digitisation.
