Results of a Nationwide Survey. With the increasing prevalence of lean production systems a methodical approach for improvement has found its way into the common practice of companies. The Institute of Production Management and Technology investigated in a nationwide survey how companies make use of improvement methods. This papers describes the main results and points out opportunities for research and industry.
