For the validation of the performance of geogrid-reinforced pavements, using unbound granular materials, large scale trafficking trials have been proven to be a proper measure. In opposite to large scale lab testing, full scale trafficking trials reflect the complete range of stress-deformation-behaviour and performance of the compound material geogrid-reinforced-soil, inhibiting three dimensional dynamic effects and subsoil conditions. Full scale trafficking trials have been installed and driven to failure. Artificial subsoil with weak subgrade strength using glacial till has been installed as formation for the trial sections. Eight reinforced pavement sections with variation of thickness, geogrid strength, geogrid stiffness, type of polymer and numbers of layers added by a control section have been installed by varying just one factor from section to section. The unique layout has been added by extensive documentation of in-situ soil parameter, deformation of subsoil and surface. The preliminary results show a clear tendency of the influence of interaction and strength parameter of the geogrids as well as influences by traffic-induced excess pore-pressure variations of the subsoil.
