Schedule reliability is one of the most important logistic targets in operations management. Many companies struggle to control their schedule reliability systematically. Whether a production facility is able to complete its jobs on time depends on the backlog and the sequence deviations within the production flow. This work models schedule reliability as a function of its influencing variables. The model helps to detect the sources of low schedule reliability and provides starting points to increase it.
