In this paper, the developed BPM-based model was used to obtain further insight into one of the most critical processing steps of tile manufacturing, namely uniaxial pressing of porcelain stoneware tiles. The simulations were validated by experimental analysis considering different material and processing param-eters. The validated simulations improved the previous semi-empirical model adopted for the macroscale flowsheet simulation, by refining the independencies of unknown model parameters.
