This article examines the current state of implementation of Lean Construction techniques in selected German construction companies. First, typical characteristics of lean construction are identified. The data obtained on the basis of structured interviews allows a statement to be made on the degree of implementation of lean construction depending on the size and technical specialization of a construction company. Lean construction characteristics typical for the surveyed companies were identified. In addition, a lack of trust among construction participants was identified as one of the major hurdles to an effective implementation of lean construction on construction sites.
