The article examines the use of artificial intelligence in the vocational field of construction. Against the backdrop of applications that have so far been limited in scope but are becoming increasingly widespread, it presents specific examples from construction technology and wood technology, as well as from colour technology, interior design and surface technology. Their characteristics and distinctive features are then examined from a vocational-science perspective, thereby laying the groundwork for subsequent considerations in vocational didactics.
