In the Live-Lab ProVIL - Product development in the virtual Idea Laboratory students yearly develop innovative product concepts in cooperation with a partner from the industries. Thereby exist three dimensions: In terms of teaching ProVIL follows the goal to skill up the students. In the research dimension, ProVIL is understood as research environment to evaluate methods, processes and tools. In respect to the innovation dimension, the project results shall have as much innovation potential as possible. Between the three dimensions, large synergetic potentials and conflicts of objectives exist. In this article, the Live-Lab ProVIL 2016 is analyzed to deviate an implementation model for ProVIL 2017. The implementation model is modeled using the integrated product development model to enable the generation of a reference model for ProVIL in the future.
