Publication of main code sections (modules, subroutines, functions etc.) developed and written by Dr.-Ing. Sandra Hellmers within her dissertation (Hellmers 2020). Theoretical approaches, deriviation of equations and the overall methodology is explained in the dissertation (Hellmers, 2020), (Hellmers & Fröhle 2017) and (Hellmers & Fröhle 2021). The executable core Kalypso-NA_4.0 is released and published in February 2021: http://kalypso.wb.tu-harburg.de/downloads/KalypsoNA/. Supplement information about input and output parameters to compute backwater effects in surface waters of tidal lowland catchments including control structures are summarised in the attached file: "Hellmers_supplement_2020_parameters_backwater.pdf". The code "Kalypso-NA" is published under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License as described by the Free Software Foundation, version 2.1.
