The present thesis treats the injection and dissolution of dense inert gases such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen into liquid-solid systems. For that purpose, two exemplary processes are studied: the gas assisted pressing of oil seeds and the gas aided spraying of suspensions in spray drying processes. In consequence of the change in physical properties in case of carbon dioxide dissolution and a gas expansion flow during depressurisation a process intensification is attained in both systems.
