This paper deals with an external calibration scheme for planar DBF transmit antenna arrays. Amplitude and phase of the individual array elements are determined by several external probe antennas located at the edges of the array. Focus of this paper is on the measurement setup and first experimental results of the calibration scheme applied to an elementary 2×2 transmit module operating at 30 GHz. © 2006 EuMA.
