Spatial data infrastructures and grid infrastructures manage distributed geographic data, computing, and storage resources from different organizations without centralized control. This thesis makes a contribution to the implementation of open standards from these infrastructures in the field of flood modeling. To achieve this, a generic procedure for the creation of standardized geoprocessing grid services is developed. This procedure is evaluated by two prototypical implementations of flood modeling tasks in the grid: a flow model discretization service and a flood simulation service.
