By modeling the spatial engagement conditions and the fiber protrusions as a function of the workpiece contour, the influence on the cutting quality when milling non-crimped CFRP was analyzed and optimized milling strategies were derived. In addition, the influence of the fiber orientation angle on the tool wear when milling in full section was demonstrated and investigated by an empirical model using planing experiments.
