Patient specific glass fiber reinforced composite versus titanium plate: A comparative biomechanical analysis under cyclic dynamic loading
Journal of the mechanical behavior of biomedical materials (91): 212-219 (2019-03)
Free flap fixation with patient specific titanium (TI) plates is commonly performed after oncologic mandible resection, but plate exposure, osseous nonunion and imaging artefacts are associated complications. The aim of this study was to analyze interfragmentary movements and fatigue behaviour of patient specific titanium plates in comparison to a novel glass fiber reinforced composite (GFRC) plate in vitro.
