Due to the expansion of offshore wind power generation new types of ships are
needed. In this context, the capability of the dynamic positioning gains in importance
as a new elementary design aspect. In the present work, two methods are
presented to benchmark the ability to keep the vessel's position in the early design
stage of ships. In order to improve the calculations interaction effects are taken
into account, which have been studied by using model tests.
