|Title:||Fuel savings and emission reduction at airports||Language:||English||Authors:||Dzikus, Niclas||Issue Date:||2017||Source:||DLR Deutsches Zentrum fur Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V. - Forschungsberichte 27 (January): 1-226 (2017)||Journal or Series Name:||DLR Deutsches Zentrum fur Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V. - Forschungsberichte||Abstract (english):||In this thesis the potential of various technological approaches to reduce fuel consumption and emissions during the landing and take-off cycle at airports are assessed at a system-level. In order to compare their potential for a future air transportation system a model has been developed that captures the inter-dependencies of different variables. These include future air traffic growth and fleet composition, airport capacities as well as process times in the landing and take-off cycle. Potential fuel savings and emission reduction for different scenarios are quantified and technology combinations to maximize the benefit are derived.||URI:||http://hdl.handle.net/11420/3916||ISSN:||1434-8454||Institute:||Lufttransportsysteme M-28||Type:||Review (Artikel)|
