Limitations of established methods for use in miniaturized, cost sensitive systems are highlighted. With minimum changes of the traditional laser driver setup and the introduction of a Matched Filter the signal quality can be improved by emitting multiple laser pulses in short succession. A nearly linear improvement of signal-to-noise ratio with the number of emissions was found. Experimental data was recorded and post-processed to demonstrate the approach's benefit.enLaser radarLiDARmatched filtersignal modulationtime-of-flightIncreasing the signal-to-noise ratio in APD-based scanning LiDAR sensors on the transmission sideConference Paper10.1109/CRALT.2016.8066038Other
