The antenna consists of a curved-edge bow tie-like dipole with circular cutouts. It is connected to a microstrip line through a simple linearly tapered balun. The antenna has been designed, optimized, and realized on low-cost FR4-substrate. Simulation and measurement results are presented. The antenna is matched in the frequency range from 3.3 GHz to 10.4 GHz. It exhibits an omnidirectional radiation pattern and a linear phase response throughout the whole 3 dB-gain-bandwidth. This makes the curved-edge antenna suitable for portable UWB devices. © 2013 European Microwave Association.enTechnikIngenieurwissenschaftenA curved-edge dipole antenna for UWB applicationsConference PaperOther
