In Germany the consideration of the maintenance strategies, procedures and results is scattered. A systematic analysis of current maintenance practice in different federal states for various types of structures is required to comprehensively understand the process and assess the possible benefits for their design and planning in the future. This paper introduces a methodology for a systematic analysis of maintenance strategies based on a set of criteria grouped around strategic and operational perspective of maintenance.
