The vibration behaviour of steel sheet piles during vibratory driving is variable and alternating. Influences are for instance the soil properties, the design and arrangement of the guidance, the mechanical equipment and machine parameters, the profile's stiffness and profile's length. In addition, the free length of the profile decreases with increasing embedding depth. Mostly unknown is the vibration behaviour of the interlocks as interlock friction can lead to a strong heating up to a welding of the interlocks. In order to investigate the vibration behaviour of sheet piles, two field tests are performed in Hamburg and Wismar using triaxial acceleration sensors as well as temperature sensors. The sensors are mounted near the interlocks and at different heights. The sheet piles differ in terms of the profile's characteristics as well as the boundary conditions.de0172-6145Geotechnik201828498Metrological observation of vibratory driving of steel sheet pilesJournal Article10.1002/gete.201700013Other
