The vibration behaviour changes with varying temperature due to changes in stiffness and damping, as well as influences in the boundary conditions and geometry. This effect is particularly noticeable in FRP structures. To accurately determine the effects of temperature on the dynamic behavior of structures, detailed material testing and simulation-based analyses are required, with temperature-dependent material parameters posing a major challenge. In this paper, a holistic approach to vibration characterization of large components is developed. With the help of experimental resonance tests on a simplified structural level and the transfer of the measurement results by inverse parameter identification, an approach is provided to estimate the vibration behavior of large structural components. A part of the primary structure of an aircraft is used as a case study for the procedure and the resonance tests on an electrodynamic shaker.enVibration TestingThermal environmentLightweight structuresTechnology::620: EngineeringHolistic approach to vibration characterization of large structural components in thermal environmentConference PaperConference Paper
