Simulation identifies critical stress points to optimize sensor placement. Laboratory burst and cyclic tests provide a baseline and proof of concept for a remaining useful life analysis, improving safety and resource efficiency in hydrogen storage. Results demonstrate that strain data reflect stress patterns and material responses, supporting effective monitoring of tank condition during pressurization cycles.en2220-4342Proceedings of the Design Society202632253234Cambridge University Press (CUP)https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/artificial intelligence (AI)non-invasive monitoringremaining useful lifesimulation-based designsmart composite tankSocial Sciences::338: ProductionAn approach to the test design for smart composite vessels enabling remaining useful life estimationConference Paper10.1017/pds.2026.1068010.15480/882.17685
