Nevertheless, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) currently make up only a very minor part of the fleet of commercially registered vehicles. The chapter, therefore, examines the question of which existing areas of commercial traffic offer the possibility of successfully integrating BEVs. For this purpose, similar vehicle groups are first identified from an existing data set. Afterward, these groups are analyzed with regard to their potential for BEVs. The data basis is provided by the research project “Hamburg - Wirtschaft am Strom,” which examines the substitution potential of conventional vehicles by BEVs in company fleets. Finally, an attempt is made to quantify the potential for BEVs of the data set analyzed, and further research needs are identified.enBattery electric vehiclesBEVCluster analysisCommercial trafficElectric mobilityMobility behaviorEnhancing the potential for battery electric vehicle by identifying behaviorally homogenous groups in commercial trafficBook Part10.1016/B978-0-12-817362-6.00014-8Other
