The differential mixer design replaces the conventional transconductance stage of the Gilbert-cell with a pure passive VI-converter. This approach using only the switching quad as active circuit reduces the dc power consumption and improves linearity. In addition, the LO power requirement is decreased down to -10dBm to eliminate the need of an additional LO buffer amplifier saving power from an RF frontend system architecture point of view. Measurement results show that the fabricated mixer achieves a peak voltage conversion gain of 16.2dB and it consumes only 2.1mW of dc power when it is compressed by 1dB. The 3dB RF bandwidth covers 39GHz to 80GHz with a 69% fractional bandwidth. Compared to other state of the art high frequency low-power mixers, the proposed circuit achieves higher voltage conversion gain in a wider RF bandwidth while it has a lower LO power requirement.endown-conversion mixerintegrated circuitlinearitylow-powermm-wavesilicon-germaniumwidebandA V-band Low-Power and Compact Down-Conversion Mixer with Low LO Power in 130-nm SiGe BiCMOS TechnologyConference Paper10.23919/EuMIC50153.2022.9783953Other
