Core component is a fast locking phase locked loop (PLL) with a 24 GHz voltage controlled oscillator (VCO). The system shows a total turn-on and lock time below 50 microseconds and, due to range-correlation in continuous wave (CW) short-range radar systems, still a good phase noise. With the proposed optimized system design and by intermittently transmitting, the average power consumption of the complete system was significantly reduced down to, e.g., 1 mW for 20 dual-tone signals per second.enLow-power frequency synthesizer for multi-tone six-port radarConference Paper10.1109/WISNET.2018.8311571Other
