Additionally, the protection of pedestrians becomes an increasing interest in the recent decades. Therefore, this paper deals with innovative driver assistance systems based on radar sensors for cars. Detection and classification of vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians, are the main topic of the EU funded ARTRAC project.
