He studied Physics and Chemistry at both Faculties at the University of Valencia where graduated in Chemistry in 1990 and and completed a PhD (1995) in Chemistry. Then, he stayed for two years at the Davy-Faraday Research Laboratory in London where he mastered the principles of atomistic simulations in the group of Prof. Richard Catlow. He has since been fellow visitor at Imperial College and University College in London, as well as in Perth (Australia) and Tottori (Japan). His scientific background includes physical chemistry, catalysis, quantum chemistry, atomistic methods, programming languajes, operating systems, and parallel computing.
