Athanasios Katsoyiannis is currently a Scientific/Technical support Officer for the European Commission's Joint Research Centre in Ispra, Italy. Previous to this job, he worked for two years (2012-2013) as a Senior Research Scientist with the Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU) in Tromso, Norway, for two years (2010-2012) as Senior Research Associate with the Lancaster University in Lancaster United Kingdom, and for 4 years as a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the Institute for Health and Consumer Protection (JRC, Ispra). His main scientific interests are the source identification, occurrence and fate in the environment of organic chemicals (like PAHs, PCBs, Dioxins, PBDEs, VOCs etc.). Katsoyiannis is also dealing with methods for treatment of drinking water and of wastewater
