Here we exemplify that in combination with self-assembly of liquid crystals in pore space this provides particularly versatile pathways for the engineering of photonic metamaterials. We present temperature-dependent structuralcharacterizations of the thermodynamic and structural self-assembly behavior of the liquid crystals confined in nanoporous silicon, silica and alumina in combination with experiments on the resulting effective optics of the hybrid materials.enPhysicsAdaptive photonic metamaterials by self-assembly of liquid crystals in nanoporous solidsConference Paperhttps://metaconferences.org/ocs/index.php/META21/META21Conference Paper
