First, for a given evolutionary equation, we explicitly describe the (Formula presented.) -adjoint system, which turns out to describe a system backwards in time. We prove well-posedness for the (Formula presented.) -adjoint system. We then apply the obtained duality to introduce and study notions of null controllability for evolutionary equations.en1099-1476Mathematical methods in the applied sciences2026Wileyhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/dualityevolutionary equationsnull controllabilityν-adjoint systemNatural Sciences and Mathematics::515: AnalysisTechnology::629: Other Branches::629.8: Control and Feedback Control SystemsDuality for evolutionary equations with applications to null controllabilityJournal Articlehttps://doi.org/10.15480/882.1658110.1002/mma.7033910.15480/882.16581Journal Article
