This strength is achieved by using various types of high-strength, fine-grained aggregate optimized for packing density, such as quartz sand and quartz powder, as well as by utilizing very low water-to-cement (w/c) mass ratios as low as 0.15, as opposed to ca. 0.45 in ordinary concrete.
