In our information provision experiment, the participants were provided with professional forecasts of diļ¬erent historical accuracy and complexity. Our novel experimental design allows us to assess the influence of cognitive uncertainty while controlling for the uncertainty associated with forecasts and priors. Consistent with cognitive uncertainty we find that more complex forecasts lead to smaller updates of inflation expectation.en0167-2681Journal of economic behavior & organization2026Elsevierhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Cognitive uncertaintyExpectation formationInflationInformation provision experimentSocial Sciences::330: EconomicsNatural Sciences and Mathematics::519: Applied Mathematics, ProbabilitiesInflation expectations and cognitive uncertaintyJournal Articlehttps://doi.org/10.15480/882.1671910.1016/j.jebo.2026.10743710.15480/882.16719Journal Article
