They can be assessed on mission level, fleet level or global air transport level. In this paper a fleet level direct operating cost (DOC) assessment of an advanced all new mid-range aircraft is performed. In a first step, range dependent DOC and seat mile cost (SMC) characteristics are provided for various aircraft.
