In this paper, we are interested in the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) behavior of such signals in comparison to usual signals generated with Nyquist signaling. To this end, a statistical analysis of the instantaneous power distribution is performed when a square-root raised cosine filter is used for pulse shaping. We especially show that, for small values of the pulse shaping filter roll-off factor, faster-than-Nyquist signaling can offer better PAPR behavior than Nyquist signaling if the transmit symbol constellation and the symbol rate are appropriately chosen.enFaster-than-Nyquist signaling for satellite communications: A PAPR analysisConference PaperOther
