The decision and selection of suitable reference system elements (RSE) is a challenging process. In order to investigate the influence of different RSE, human behavior in relation to decision-making must also be considered. The present work is based on the evaluation of extensive work in the field of behavioral economics. The experiments show the influence of reference products on decision-making and development success through the selection of RSE. By classifying and quantifying the products, a correlation between the new development shares of the new product generation and the quality and improvement potential of the reference products is recognized.dehttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/decision makinghuman behaviorlaboratory studyProduct Generation Engineeringreference system elementsSocial Sciences::330: EconomicsExploratory study to investigate the influence of reference systems in the model of product generation engineeringConference Paper10.15480/882.1331110.35199/dfx2024.20https://www.designsociety.org/publication/47587/Exploratory+study+to+investigate+the+influence+of+reference+systems+in+the+model+of+product+generation+engineering10.15480/882.13311Conference Paper
