Abschliessend wird das Verhältnis von Kombinatorik und Kreativität im Rahmen von modernen Ideen eines alternativen Umgangs mit dem Urheberrecht (Creative Commons) thematisiert: Die "Bibliothek von Babel", die alle Werke enthält, die aus der Kombination von allen möglichen Zeichen kombinatorisch konstruiert werden können, ist Teil einer Welt, in der kein Plagiat möglich ist bzw. alle Werke Plagiate sind.Starting with a statement by the chemist Wilhelm Ostwald on combinatorics as a component of creativity, this essay illustrates the relation between the library and combinatorics, and with it mathematics, through citations of the novel "The library of Babel" by Jorge Luis Borges.
