During this time material properties change due to chemical and physical aging mechanisms. Over time the combination of chemical aging with a static mechanical load leads to a permanent deformation. Experimental results are presented, which show the diverse influence of a static load during thermal aging on the material properties and on the stress state of a specimen. The resulting inhomogeneous stress state of specimens aged with preload can influence the lifetime considerably. © 2013 Taylor & Francis Group.enTechnikIngenieurwissenschaftenAgeing under preloadConference Paper10.1201/b14964-8Other
